Recommended Dosage

Recommended starting dosage:

approximately 0.2% of the wax weight.

For example:

• 100 g wax – approx. 0.2 g dye;

• 500 g wax – approx. 1 g dye;

• 1000 g wax – approx. 2 g dye.

At a 0.2% dosage, one 10 g pack colours approximately 5 kg of wax.

Use less dye for a softer shade.

How to Use

Add the dye to fully melted wax and stir thoroughly until completely dissolved and evenly distributed.

The finished shade will depend on:

• wax type and natural wax colour;

• dye concentration;

• fragrance oil;

• other additives;

• processing temperature;

• cooling conditions.

Hot liquid wax usually appears darker and more intense than the finished, fully set candle.

Vegetable Waxes

Soy, rapeseed, coconut and other vegetable waxes generally produce softer and less intense colours than paraffin wax.

We recommend making a small colour test before larger production runs and assessing the final shade only after the wax has fully set.

Natural vegetable waxes may also develop frosting, surface-texture variations or changes in container adhesion. These effects are primarily related to the properties of the wax and do not necessarily indicate a problem with the dye.

Important

BEKRO oil-soluble dyes are designed for through-colouring candle wax.

They are not intended primarily for over-dipping or external candle decoration because soluble dyes may migrate.

Excessive dye concentration may also affect wick performance, so any higher loading should be validated with a burn test.
