Wax Additives for Candle Making

Discover specialist wax additives for candle making, designed to help adjust wax colour, burning properties and resistance to the effects of light.

Wax additives are typically used in small concentrations, so we recommend testing them with your specific wax, fragrance oil, dye and wick before larger-scale production.

BEKRO Matt White – for Lightening Wax

BEKRO Matt White is a white dye additive suitable for making naturally yellowish wax appear visually whiter.

It can be used with both plant-based waxes and paraffin. The recommended concentration is approximately 0.2% of the wax weight.

BE 60 – Burning Aid

BEKRO BE 60 is intended for wax formulations containing a higher proportion of oily components, particularly plant-based waxes or more heavily fragranced formulations.

It may help to:

• reduce oil migration;
• improve the distribution of liquid components within the wax structure;
• adjust candle burning properties;
• improve the appearance of the wax surface.

The recommended BE 60 concentration is approximately 0.2–0.5% of the wax weight.

CS 6000 – UV Stabiliser

BEKRO CS 6000 is a UV stabiliser designed to help slow down colour fading in coloured candles and yellowing in white or uncoloured candles caused by prolonged exposure to light.

It is suitable for various types of candle wax. The recommended concentration is approximately 0.1–0.4%. The stabiliser should be mixed into the wax before adding fragrance oils or dyes.

How to Use Wax Additives

Each additive has a different function, so the amount used should follow the recommendations for the specific product. Using more additive does not necessarily improve the result.

Before larger-scale production, we recommend carrying out a test with the selected wax, additive, fragrance oil, dye and wick.
