A rich black pigment primarily intended for overdipping, external candle colouring and decoration. It can be used to create a black decorative wax layer or, at a lower concentration, softer greyish tones.

Application

This pigment is primarily intended for:

• external candle colouring;
• decorative candle finishes;
• overdipping candles in coloured wax.

Pigment particles do not dissolve in wax and therefore need to be evenly dispersed throughout the wax mixture.

Recommended Concentration

Recommended concentration: approximately 1–1.5%.

For example:

• 100 g wax – approx. 1–1.5 g pigment;
• 500 g wax – approx. 5–7.5 g pigment;
• 1000 g wax – approx. 10–15 g pigment.

One 10 g pack is sufficient for approximately 670–1000 g of wax mixture, depending on the concentration used.

How to Use

Add the pigment to fully melted wax and mix very thoroughly to disperse the pigment particles as evenly as possible.

The final shade may be influenced by:

• the type and natural colour of the wax;
• pigment concentration;
• other wax additives;
• dipping temperature;
• thickness of the decorative wax layer.

Thorough dispersion is particularly important when producing an even, rich black finish.

Important

This 100% black pigment is intended for colouring the outer layer of candles, rather than for colouring the entire candle throughout.

When used throughout the candle wax, solid pigment particles may enter the wick and interfere with wax flow and burning performance. For this reason, Black pigment is not recommended for through-colouring candles.

For through-colouring, use a suitable BEKRO oil-soluble candle dye instead.

We recommend making a small test batch before processing larger quantities.
