In this article we're delving deeper into the field of natural waxes, exploring the variety of waxes available and giving you tips on how to choose the perfect wax for your candles.

Natural waxes have long been appreciated for their eco-friendliness, sustainability and unique properties. Here are the differences between soy, coconut, beeswax and rapeseed waxes.

Soy wax:

Wax derived from soybean oil is a renewable resource. Soy wax is usually clean and long burning, with little soot. It emits scents well. Its texture is soft and creamy, making it easy to use for candle making.

- NATUREWAX C-3 - for candles in jars. It is additive-free, more temperature-sensitive, non-adhesive to the walls of the jar, tolerates up to 8% fragrance oils and is made in the USA.

- GOLDENWAX 464 - classic soy wax for candles in jars, especially for those who want colored candles and better adhesion to the vessel walls. We now have a European version of this wax, with a similar formula but made in Sweden, which makes it more sustainable.

- GOLDENWAX S41 - we call it the cousin of GoldenWax 464 because it has similar properties but is available in 25 kg solid slabs. It is also manufactured in Sweden and provides a very good scent throw.

- KERAGREEN SOY PILLAR - our new wax, best suited for pillar candles, non-GMO, COSMOS approved, REACH compliant, burns similar to Kerasoy 4120, made in France.

- KERASOY 4120 - a classic beautiful wax for pillar candles, made in the UK, dermatologically tested, popular with our customers.

Coconut or coconut-rapeseed blend waxes:

Coconut wax, extracted from coconut pulp, is a natural by-product of coconut oil production. Coconut wax burns slowly and evenly and often has a brighter flame than other waxes. It is an excellent scent diffuser and can hold a large amount of fragrance. Like soy wax, coconut wax is biodegradable and comes from renewable plants. It has a slightly grainy texture and can be softer than other waxes, so it should be handled with care when making candles.

- NATUREWAX ELITE 600 is an excellent sustainable choice for larger candles, does not stick to the sides of the container, EU-sourced rapeseed, non-GMO oils, made in Germany.

- NATUREWAX 660-55M - a beautiful sustainable wax for scented wax melts, small pillar candles, made in Germany.

- AAK WAX PLUS 115 - very soft, white coconut wax for candles in jars or for soap making, can also be used as an additive to soften other vegetable waxes, in 25 kg slabs, made in Sweden.

- KERAX COCONUT CONTAINER 4135 - white coconut wax in granules for candles in jars, with relatively low crystallization, good adhesion to the sides of the container and excellent burning quality, made in the United Kingdom.

Beeswax:

Beeswax is a natural secretion that forms the structure of the bees' comb. Beeswax candles have a naturally sweet aroma and emit a warm, golden flame. It burns cleanly, with almost no soot, and has a longer burn time than some other waxes. Beeswax is a natural by-product of honey production and is considered sustainable if harvested responsibly. Beeswax has a hard and slightly sticky texture, so extra care may be needed when melting and pouring it.

- YELLOW BEES WAX - best suited for pillar candles, sold in granules.

Rapeseed wax:

Rapeseed wax has an excellent fragrance and good burning properties. It has a creamy appearance and can hold a large amount of fragrance. Rapeseed wax is a renewable resource and biodegradable, allowing it to be used in an environmentally friendly way. It has a fine texture and, like soy wax, is easy to use in candle making.

- POLYCERIN® 9562 - a good quality wax for pillar candles, harder than soy wax, made in Germany from rapeseed grown in Europe.

Each of these waxes provides its own unique properties for candle making, allowing manufacturers to choose a wax according to their specific preferences and requirements. Whether you prefer eco-friendliness, fragrance efficiency or burning properties, we recommend choosing a natural wax that is right for your candle visions.
