About UFI code

Concentrations of all our fragrance oils not requiring a UFI code.

Throughout the European Union from 2021 on the labels of hazardous chemical products (except for environmental hazards only - H400, H410, H411, H412, H413)) a new element - a 16-character code called the Unique Mixture Identifier (UFI) - must be indicated. Importers and distributors who place such products on the market must provide poison information offices with product-specific information, including the UFI. This is mandated by the requirements of Article 45 of the CLP Regulation:

· downstream users and importers who supply hazardous mixtures to the market must provide certain information;

· information for poison centers;

· information is used in extreme health situations (poisoning) in order to determine preventive and treatment measures;

· information is provided before the mixtures are placed on the market.

Dates of application of CLP Annex VIII:

· 2021 January 1 - mixtures intended for ordinary users or professional use;

· 2024 January 1 - mixtures intended for industrial use;

· 2025 January 1 - all mixtures placed on the market covered by CLP Annex VIII.

What mixtures need to be reported on?

· about mixtures that are classified as dangerous based on their health effects or physical effects (paints, varnishes, primers, construction chemicals, auto cosmetics, household chemicals, etc.);

· about mixture-product combinations in which the mixtures are classified as hazardous to human health or as having a physical hazard (candles, crayons, printer cartridges, wet wipes, etc.).

Production without a UFI code cannot be distributed, except for those who are still in a transitional period or for products not classified as hazardous to health or without physical hazards.

There are several companies in Lithuania that can provide UFI code registration service. By providing information on UFI, it is possible to provide information to poison centers in all EU countries and thus ensure free trade of products throughout the EU.

We recommend:

1. www.uficode.eu. The preliminary price of processing one UFI code is from 50 euros. More precisely, the price can be determined after evaluating the components of the mixture, the safety data sheet is sufficient for this.
