What Are Wax Melts Used For?

light a regular, unscented tea light and place it in the lower part of the warmer;

Do not add water or oil to the melting wax.

When you’re done diffusing the scent, extinguish the tea light or turn off the electric warmer. The wax will solidify again and can be re-melted repeatedly later.

Keep in mind that the melted wax doesn’t burn away like a jar candle—the wax itself doesn’t disappear; only the fragrance compounds evaporate over time.

How to use wax melt without a warmer?

The water bath method

Heat a small amount of water in a medium-sized pot.

Place a smaller heat-resistant container inside it and put the wax melt into the smaller container.

This way, you can enjoy the scent of the wax melt even without a special wax warmer.

How long can the wax melt be used?

The wax melt can be heated as long as its scent is still detectable.

Over time, the scent gradually fades until it eventually disappears.

Approximate burn time:

5–8 hours if the wax contains a moderate amount of fragrance oil;

12–18 hours if the wax has a higher concentration of fragrance oil.

How do you clean the wax melter?

If you want to remove used wax, heat it briefly until it becomes liquid.

Then carefully wipe away the liquid wax with a paper towel.
