Recommended Dosage
Recommended dosage: up to approximately 0.2% of the wax weight.
For example:
- 100 g wax – approx. 0.2 g dye;
- 500 g wax – approx. 1 g dye;
- 1000 g wax – approx. 2 g dye.
At a 0.2% dosage, one 10 g pack is sufficient to colour approximately 5 kg of wax.
For a softer blue shade, start with a lower dosage, such as approximately 0.1% (1 g/kg).
How to Use
BEKRO dye is designed for colouring candle wax throughout. Add the dye to fully melted wax and stir thoroughly until dissolved and evenly distributed.
The final shade will depend on:
- the type and natural colour of the wax;
- dye concentration;
- fragrance oils and other additives;
- production and cooling conditions.
Vegetable waxes generally produce softer, less intense colours than paraffin wax. The dosage may therefore need to be adjusted to achieve a deep dark blue in your chosen wax.
We recommend making a small test candle before producing larger batches and assessing the final colour only after the wax has completely set.
Natural waxes may also develop frosting or pull away from the sides of the container. These effects are related to the properties of the wax and do not necessarily indicate a problem with the dye.
