KERAGREEN® SUNFLOWER PILLAR is a plant-based sunflower wax specifically developed for pillar and moulded candles.

It can be used with suitable candle fragrance oils and oil-soluble dyes. Its firmness and processing characteristics make it suitable for candles that are removed from a mould once fully set.

Technical Information

Instructions for Use

Melt the Wax

Heat the wax under controlled conditions.

Do not exceed 70 °C.

Once fully melted, stir gently to achieve an even temperature and consistency.

Add Fragrance Oil

Optimal fragrance load:

5–8%

Maximum:

10%

Add fragrance oil at a temperature of at least 68 °C.

Always consider:

• the fragrance-specific IFRA limit;
• the practical fragrance capacity of the wax;
• candle diameter and shape;
• wick selection;
• dyes and other additives.

A higher fragrance concentration does not necessarily provide stronger scent performance.

Add Candle Dye

Recommended temperatures:

• oil-soluble powder dyes – approximately 68 °C;
• liquid candle dyes and dye chips – approximately 70 °C.

Mix thoroughly until evenly dispersed.

Pour into Moulds

Recommended starting pour temperature:

approximately 65 °C.

The optimum temperature may vary depending on mould size and material, ambient temperature, fragrance load, dyes and the desired surface finish.

Larger candles may require a second pour due to shrinkage during cooling.

Cooling

Allow the candles to cool gradually at a stable room temperature.

Avoid draughts, cold surfaces and sudden temperature changes.

The surface appearance of plant-based wax can vary depending on processing and cooling conditions.

Wick Selection

For initial testing, we recommend raw / unwaxed cotton wicks suitable for pillar candles.

Select the wick according to candle diameter, shape, fragrance load, dyes and wick construction.

Always validate the final combination with a full burn test.

Curing & Burn Testing

Carry out the first burn test no earlier than 48 hours after pouring.

Use consistent production, cooling and curing conditions when comparing different formulations.

Original manufacturer's packaging: 20 kg carton.

Smaller quantities are repacked according to the weight ordered.
