Concentrated BEKRO candle pigment in flake form, 10 g. Colour – Cream.
A soft, warm cream shade reminiscent of the natural colour of light beeswax. The pigment is primarily intended for overdipping, external candle colouring and decoration.
As this is a very light pigment, it may also be tested for colouring the entire candle at a low concentration, provided that the finished candle is thoroughly burn-tested.
Colour type: 100% pigment
Colour code: 227
Colour: Cream
Weight: 10 g
Manufacturer: BEKRO
Made in: Germany
Application
This pigment is primarily intended for:
- external candle colouring;
- decorative candle finishes;
- overdipping candles in coloured wax.
Pigment particles do not dissolve in wax and therefore need to be evenly dispersed throughout the wax mixture.
Recommended Concentration
For overdipping and external colouring: approximately 1–1.5%.
For example:
- 100 g wax – approx. 1–1.5 g pigment;
- 500 g wax – approx. 5–7.5 g pigment;
- 1000 g wax – approx. 10–15 g pigment.
One 10 g pack is sufficient for approximately 670–1000 g of wax mixture, depending on the concentration used.
For through-colouring: a starting concentration of approximately 0.1%, or around 1 g per 1 kg of wax, may be tested.
A full burn test is essential whenever pigment is used throughout the candle.
How to Use
Add the pigment to fully melted wax and mix very thoroughly to disperse the pigment particles as evenly as possible.
The final shade may be influenced by:
- the type and natural colour of the wax;
- pigment concentration;
- other wax additives;
- dipping temperature;
- thickness of the decorative wax layer.
As this is a light shade, the natural colour of the wax can noticeably affect the finished result. White wax will produce a lighter cream, while naturally yellowish waxes will create a warmer tone.
Important
100% pigments are primarily intended for external candle colouring, as solid pigment particles used throughout a candle may affect wick performance and burning characteristics.
This light Cream pigment may be tested for through-colouring at a low concentration of approximately 0.1%, but a full burn test with the chosen wax, wick, fragrance and pigment concentration is essential.
We recommend making a small test batch before processing larger quantities.
