Wax for Pillar Candles

Discover waxes for pillar candles, which are poured into silicone, metal or other moulds and removed once fully set.

Waxes intended for pillar candles are generally firmer than container waxes, helping the finished candle retain its shape. They are suitable for decorative, sculptural, cylindrical, tapered and other moulded candles.

Our range includes waxes of different origins and compositions, allowing you to choose the most suitable option depending on the desired appearance, texture and production method:

• KERAGREEN® SOY PILLAR – soy wax specially developed for pillar candle making;
• KERAGREEN® PILLAR 95 – rapeseed wax for pillar candles;
• KERAGREEN® SUNFLOWER PILLAR – sunflower wax for pillar candles;
• POLYCERIN® 9562 – rapeseed wax made in Germany for pillar candle production;
• Palm Wax 1701A – palm wax for pillar candles;
• KERANATURE MB – paraffin-based wax for pillar candles, suitable for products where a smoother, glossier finish is desired;
• yellow and white beeswax – natural wax suitable for pillar and decorative candles;
• TEFACID 1 VL stearic acid – can be used in candle making or as an additive to increase the hardness of softer waxes.

You will also find beeswax sheets, which can be used to make candles without melting the wax – simply by rolling the sheets around a wick.

How to Choose Wax for Pillar Candles

If you prefer a plant-based wax, you can choose from soy, rapeseed, sunflower or palm wax. If the natural colour and characteristic aroma of beeswax are important, choose yellow beeswax; for lighter-coloured candles, white beeswax may be more suitable.

If you are looking for a smoother and glossier candle surface, KERANATURE MB may be worth considering. Stearic acid can be used for certain types of candles or as an additive to adjust the hardness and structure of a wax blend.

When choosing a wax, consider the size and shape of the candle, wax hardness and shrinkage, dyes used, fragrance oil concentration and wick. Different waxes may require different melting, fragrance addition and pouring temperatures.

Before starting larger-scale production, we always recommend carrying out a test pour and a full burn test with the specific wax or wax blend, fragrance oil, dye, wick and mould.

Packaging

When ordering more than 1 kg, the selected quantity of wax may be packed together in a correspondingly larger bag, up to 5 kg per package.
