Crackling Booster Wooden Wicks LCB .04

We offer to try patented, high-quality wooden wicks, made in the USA. A wooden wick series LCB .04 is made from two parts - one wick is the main and other is a thin booster wick - this creates a hotter burn. 

Indicative* inner diameters for wooden wicks „LCB .04“ with soy or beeswax in container candles:

• inner vessel diameter ~50 mm - wick width 9,5 mm,
• inner vessel diameter ~60 mm - wick width 12,7 mm,
• inner vessel diameter ~65 mm - wick width 15,9 mm,
• inner vessel diameter ~75 mm - wick width 19,1 mm,
• inner vessel diameter ~85 mm - wick width 22,2 mm,
• inner vessel diameter ~95 mm - wick width 25,4 mm.

Please note that a particular fragrance oil can change the burning diameter of the wick, e. g. the wick therefore will burn weaker or stronger. We recommend that you carry out a test burning first, for which we have prepared a set of wick samples of all sizes, purchase the holders separately.

Wicks are sold without special metal holders, You can purchase them separately here. Why do we offer to purchase separately? Unlike conventional cotton wick holders, wooden wick holders can be reused because they are not deformed when the wick is attached to them. Let's be more sustainable and buy only as many holders as we need and reuse the available ones!

It is ideal for a harder to burn 100% vegetable container soy wax and beeswax. 
Eco-friendly, clean-burning wooden wicks are made from FSC Certified Wood, hand-crafted, made in the USA.
Wicks are not further processed with any other way, so it is as natural as a wooden wick can be.

This series is .04 inch (~1 mm) thick.

• Vertical, tear-drop wick flame.\Medium brown color of wood.
• Medium - loud crackling level, which highly depends on Your wax and fragrance oil combination.
• Hot burning level.
• Brown wood can discolor waxes due to a high level of natural tannins.

The crackling sound, the hotter burning, and the darker color of the wood, which can stain the wax, are caused by the tannin, a naturally occurring substance in wood that is accumulated by some trees. Tannins are phenolic compounds of plant origin, which have many hydroxy groups, which accumulate in various parts of the plant - bark, wood, leaves, fruit.

Wooden wicks do not self-trim - if the flame becomes too tall after burning for 4 hours, it is time to trim  Your wick. 
It is advisable to use 6% of fragrance oil concentration to wax mass in order to avoid any side effects of burning process (when the flame is too high, too much black specs in the wax, wax is burning too fast, poor hot throw of the fragrance oil, very hot jar that is impossible to touch).

When making a product with these wooden wicks You should mark it with patent note. The best practice is to mark the candle product itself (the bottom of the candle, candle, box, hang-tag or other form of packaging) with the following patent marking: "Pat. https://makesy.com/pages/patents".
